Round-leaved Dogwood

Cornus rugosa

Mid-August to late September

A perennial shrub, round-leafed dogwood grows best with moderate moisture to somewhat dry, in part shade, sun, upland deciduous and mixed forests, thickets and rocky slopes. The berries start green and turn pale blue or whitish as they mature and are a main food for bears in late summer/early fall.
