Common Dandelion, Red-seeded Dandelion

The dandelion is an introduced weed that today is widely recognized by all. Settlers who came to North America in the 1600’s brought dandelions to plant and cultivate in their gardens for food and medicine. This widely recognized plant with a yellow flower, blooms from April to September. Black bears eat the leaves and flowers in the month of May.
